He said that the TMC supremo, who was sitting next to the driver in the front, suffered injuries when her head struck the windscreen. The CM was returned to Kolkata for treatment after suffering a head injury.

Mamata Banerjee provided an update on her health and detailed the earlier-in-the-day accident after arriving in Kolkata.

“I smell the coming of a fever. It’s cold here too. Suddenly, a car passed in front of my car. The car was going too fast. I only had a head injury, but I made it out alive thanks to the hand brakes. The police will carry out their duties. I refuse to visit the hospital. Banerjee said, “I’m going home because I’m feeling cold.”

Banerjee had gone to Purba Bardhaman on Wednesday afternoon to preside over an administrative review meeting. Congressman Jairam Ramesh responded to the news of Banerjee’s accident by wishing her a quick recovery.

“We recently learned of Mamata Banerjee-ji’sinjuriessustained in an automobile accident. We hope for a full and quick recovery for her. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is excited to arrive in West Bengal late on tomorrow morning. The Yatra will resume on January 28 after the break on January 26 and 27, according to a post made by Ramesh on X.

Mamata Banerjee had stated earlier in the day that the TMC would fight Bengal on its own. Her declaration follows disputes between the TMC and Congress regarding West Bengal seat sharing for the next Lok Sabha.

“I didn’t talk to the Congress party. We will fight alone in Bengal, as I have always said. The TMC chief stated, “I am not worried about what will happen in the nation, but we are a secular party and we will defeat BJP alone in Bengal.

“I made a lot of suggestions, but they were immediately turned down. We have since chosen to contest the Bengali elections on our own.”

In addition, she asserted that, in contrast to the Congress’s assertion that it has invited every party in the INDIA bloc to participate in the foot march, she was unaware that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was going through Bengal.

“Despite the fact that I am a member of the INDIA bloc, they did not even think it appropriate to notify me in advance that they would be visiting West Bengal. Thus, insofar as Bengal is concerned, there is no relationship with me,” Mamata Banerjee stated.
