In Qatar, the all-time great finished his medal collection and solidified his place among the game’s legends, including Pele and Diego Maradona. The four-part series “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend,” which will premiere in 2024, will analyze and explore that journey, which dates back to the beginning of his international career.

Using Messi’s own words, Apple TV+ described the series as “an intimate and unprecedented look at his quest for a legacy-defining World Cup victory, telling the definitive story of his incredible career with the Argentina national football team.”

Followers get an inside look at five World Cup events dating back to 2006 where Messi made appearances. The film incorporates footage from the Argentine’s early years and features an interview with the man conducted by Gary Lineker, a former striker for Barcelona and England.
WHAT NEXT?
“The most personal interviews with Messi to date, alongside conversations with team-mates, coaches, competitors, ardent fans and commentators,” is what the documentary claims to offer. It chronicles his journey from impoverished beginnings to immortality in the World Cup, experiencing many highs and lows along the way. Apple TV+ will debut “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend” on February 21, 2024.
