‘To be honest…’: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam’s take on Indian hospitality during ODI World Cup 2023 (WATCH)

During the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Indian fans have shown love and support for Pakistan, and captain Babar Azam has expressed his gratitude for it. When Babar first arrived in India in September, he was full of expectations to take his team to the World Cup championship. But Pakistan’s performance in the tournament has been difficult, and they could be eliminated early, which puts them in a risky situation.

Babar has amassed 282 runs in eight games, including four half-centuries, but he hasn’t been able to inspire the team as much as he had hoped. In order to maintain their slim hopes of making it to the semi-finals, Pakistan must now focus on beating England in their final group match.

Babar gave a pre-match press conference where he thanked the Indian fans for their support and discussed his personal objectives as well as the team’s adjustment to the Indian conditions. Even though he didn’t quite reach the right level of batting completion, Babar made it clear that his main goal was to help the team win. He demonstrated his flexibility in a variety of settings by playing both slowly and quickly depending on what the team needed.

“To be really honest, I initially received a lot of love and support from India. Not just me, the whole group. Naturally, I was unable to achieve a strong finish. A strong finish in the batting was my aim. I had no intention of scoring 50 or 100. Making the team win was the most important thing. Not my personal performance, but the one that benefits the team. I varied my playing speed according to the circumstances. “I play based on the circumstances and what my team needs,” Babar stated at a press conference held prior to the game.

Babar talked about the team’s initial ignorance of India but also their quick adaptation and preparation for the obstacles. He also acknowledged the difficulties faced by batsmen in the middle overs as the ball gets older, and he specifically mentioned adapting to the conditions. He also emphasized the significance of middle and end overs in getting runs.
