Rohit Sharma slapped with multiple fines for reckless driving before India vs Bangladesh World Cup match

Rohit Sharma

According to reports, India captain Rohit Sharma received numerous traffic citations for his careless driving on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Rohit received three online traffic citations for speeding while traveling to Pune to meet up with the other Indian cricket players ahead of the World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh, according to Pune Mirror.

According to the report, Rohit was driving a Lamborghini at speeds as high as 215 km/h, and traffic officials were alarmed by the allegations that he was exceeding 200 km/h. Although the exact day Rohit was caught speeding is not mentioned in the report, it was probably between Monday and Tuesday.

Along with the other members of the Indian team, Rohit arrived in Pune on Sunday. The Indian captain may have chosen to spend the day in Mumbai with his family because Monday was a rest day for Indian cricket players. Only on Tuesday night did they resume training in preparation for their World Cup match on Thursday at the MCA Stadium.

This World Cup, Rohit has been performing admirably. Due to his dominant performance in the ongoing World Cup at home, he rose five spots to sixth in the ICC ODI batting rankings.

Rohit was one of the most productive batsmen in the showcase after amassing 131 runs against Afghanistan and then dominating Pakistan with 86 from 63 balls.
The right-hander who attacks will try to carry on in the same manner against Bangladesh, who have defeated India three times in the last four One-Day Internationals (ODIs): once in a bilateral series in December 2022, and again most recently in the Asia Cup Super Four match.

The underdogs have already proven they can defeat the giants in this tournament. If in doubt, ask South Africa and England about their reactions to their shocking defeats by the Netherlands and Afghanistan, respectively.

India would undoubtedly want to avoid that banana peel and continue their successful World Cup run.

India will make it four out of four if they defeat Bangladesh in this game, and they stand a good chance of overtaking New Zealand, who currently holds the top spot with eight points.
