The proposed Science City in Bengaluru will house prominent institutions like the Indian Institute of Science, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Raman Research Institute, along with over 400 research and development laboratories and IT-BT parks.

Bose Raju recently announced that the new Science Gallery has been dedicated to the public. Establishing a modern Science City will greatly benefit the advancement of science and technology in the region and promote interest among students, scientists, and the general public, according to him.

The proposal for setting up Science Centers in Raichur, Yadgir, and Chikkamagaluru districts, as part of the Science Promotion Plan (SPOCS) through the Ministry of Culture, has already been sent to the Ministry of State. The state government will provide the necessary funds, and the Central government is expected to approve the proposals promptly, as assured by the Central Culture Secretary.

Bose Raju met with the media in New Delhi and expressed confidence that the Central Culture Secretary would expedite the approval process and sanction the proposals at the earliest. During his discussions with media representatives, he emphasized the significance of setting up these Science Centers to cultivate interest in science among students and to promote progressive thinking in society, free from superstitions, and contribute to the overall development of the nation.

The establishment of these Science Centers will not only nurture students’ interest in science but also be a cooperative effort in advancing the nation in all fields and cultivating a scientific mindset among the people, Bose Raju said.
