At the COP28 Summit, PM Modi

Modi had a meeting with his Italian counterpart outside the global climate conference. He said that prosperous and sustainable futures are what Italy and India are hoping for. PM Modi expressed his anticipation for “joint efforts between India and Italy for a sustainable and prosperous future.”

In addition, Modi spoke at the COP28 summit’s opening session and the high-level segment’s official opening for heads of state and government. In addition, he went to the Transforming Climate Finance session held by the Presidency, the Green Credits Program high-level gathering, and the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT).

Along with Meloni, PM Modi also met one-on-one with the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak; the presidents of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, King Abdullah II; France, President Emmanuel Macron; and the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.

Following Meloni’s September 2018 visit to India for the G20 Summit, the friendship between PM Modi and Meloni gained attention on social media, leading to the popularization of the hashtag #Melodi.

Following a brief exchange of pleasantries, the two leaders broke out into giggles. Memes and videos of Modi and Meloni meeting with Bollywood music overlaid were made after their exchange went viral on social media.

In addition, Giorgia Meloni sent September birthday wishes to PM Modi, who turned 73. Meloni wrote in Italian on X, referring to him as a “friend,” “Happy birthday, Narendra Modi. a close friend of Italy who is dedicated to constructing the future and proud of the history of a magnificent country.”

Giorgia Meloni’s maiden India visit

When the Italian prime minister paid his first visit to India in March of this year, he praised Prime Minister Modi and referred to him as the most beloved leader in the world. “Among all the leaders in the world, PM Modi is the most adored. Congratulations for demonstrating that he has been a significant leader, as this clearly shows,” she said at the time.
