Third T20 India vs. Afghanistan Highlights: After Afghanistan defended a target of 213 and India had removed both of their openers after the 120th over, the match appeared to be over. But Gulbadin Naib and Muhammad Nabi mounted a stunning counterattack that forced the Indians to retreat. Nabi was dismissed for 34 off 16 balls, ending a 56-run partnership with Gulbadin that required just 22 balls. Gulbadin, though, continued as wickets fell at the other end. Afghanistan tied the score and he finished undefeated on 55 off 23, remarkably forcing the match into a Super Over.

After 16 runs were scored by both sides in the first over, a second Super Over is now required to decide the game. Afghanistan needed 12 runs to win their first-ever Twenty20 International match against India after India scored 11 runs and lost two wickets in their second Super Over innings. However, they were unable to score more than one run and lost both of their wickets, allowing India to win the second Super Over.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh saved India from certain doom before totally turning the tables on Afghanistan to help them score 212/4 in just 20 overs. Fareed Ahmed and Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan attacked India in the first over, leaving them stunned on a Chinnaswamy pitch that appeared to catch the batsmen off guard. In the powerplay, India lost four wickets, three of which were taken by Fareed by himself. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal both fell for golden ducks, and two of those wickets came off consecutive deliveries. In this match, Sanju Samson, who was substituted for Jitesh Sharma, also fell for a golden duck, while Shivam Dube, who amassed undefeated half-centuries in both the previous matches, fell for one.

After enduring the storm, the two decided to change strategies following the tenth over. Together with Rinku, Rohit eventually reached a gritty half-century, helping India surpass the 100-run threshold. They scored 103 runs in the final five overs as they wreaked havoc in the final overs. India amassed 36 runs off the final over while Rohit achieved his fifth T20I century. After hitting 61 off 69 balls, Rohit finished with eight sixes and 11 fours. Rinku Singh scored 69 off 39, including six sixes and two fours. Between the two, their partnership stood at 190 off 95 balls without a loss.
