ICC World Cup: Bangladesh team at Dharamsala, to play against Afghanistan

The Bangladesh cricket team was warmly welcomed by officials of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) upon their arrival at the Gaggal airport today.

The team is scheduled to compete against Afghanistan on October 7 at the Dharamsala cricket stadium. This match marks the first of the five ICC World Cup matches that will take place in Dharamsala.

According to the ICC’s released schedule, the matches are as follows: Bangladesh vs Afghanistan (October 7), England vs Bangladesh (October 10), South Africa vs qualifier 1 (October 15), India vs New Zealand (October 22), and Australia vs New Zealand (October 28).

Sources have indicated that hotels in the region have received the highest number of booking requests for October 22, when India is set to play against New Zealand. Almost all hotels in the area have reached full capacity for this match, while the response for the other matches has been less enthusiastic.

During a press conference today, Kangra SP Shalini Agnihotri announced that adequate security and traffic arrangements have been made for the match days. One-way traffic plans will be implemented, and the public will have the option to park their vehicles at the police ground, Dari ground, and Zorawar stadium, she stated.
