IND vs PAK: Hardik Pandya did not get a chance to bat on Monday (September 11) at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo during India’s match against Pakistan, but he did something special for his captain Rohit Sharma when he cleaned up Men in Green skipper Babar Azam with a peach of a delivery. He later celebrated with a beaming Virat Kohli and his teammates.

Pandya took advantage of the pitch conditions by banging it in hard on a decent length, and the ball just castled the Pakistan captain’s stumps after nipping in (inswinger). Hardik Pandya’s delivery on Monday was too superb even for the number one ODI batsman.

Earlier, during India’s match against archrival Pakistan, star hitters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul set the best partnership in Asia Cup history.

The pair reached the milestone during a Super Four match. Rahul and Kohli annihilated Pakistan bowling, putting up an unbroken 233-run partnership in 194 deliveries. The pair broke the record previously held by Pakistan’s Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez, who scored 224 runs against India in 2012.

The Indian duo took their time before starting their assault. They contributed to India’s challenging 356/2 against Babar Azam’s Pakistan. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill’s half-centuries established the groundwork for India, while Kohli and Rahul’s unbeaten 233-run partnership was the icing on the cake, as the former skipper concluded the innings with a maximum. Kohli finished with an unbeaten 122 off 94 deliveries, while Rahul hit a blazing 111 from 106 balls.
